Marsannay and arounds


Marceniacum in Monte then Marcenay-en–Montagne, became in 1783 Marsannay -la-Côte, probably because of a Gallo-Roman : Marcenus. The old village is growing at the foot of wooded hills with valleys to the rich flora are pleasant places to hike. The terroir of Marsannay has been occupied since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the few recorded archaeological discoveries.

It was the Romans who introduced the cultivation of the vine and from the village life was marked by this activity.

The vine and wine in Beaune


One of the most recent AOC Burgundy (1987) , promoted to the rank of communal appellation belongs to the prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Nuits St Georges which it opens the doors to the immediate south of Dijon.

The “ Marsannay " so called Golden Gate Côte de Nuits , North begins with an exceptional terroir the " Clos du Roy " and ends with the South " Champs Perdrix ".
Three towns are affected by the A.O.C. Marsannay, these are: Chenôve, Marsannay-la-Côte, Couchey.


Like the growers who have struggled for more than fifty years for the recognition and the quality of their products, wines Marsannay persistently express their strength and character. They participate in mingling with the original style of each grower, this incomparable diversity that makes the charm and richness of Burgundy.
Perfectly combining elegance and power, the amateur will find the opportunity to enjoy in a friendly atmosphere in the cellars winemakers soft, subtle differences in the wines produced in many " climate ".


There is structured in Beaune wines, particularly aromatic with characters guard proved tannic, sensual wines here and express the general type of wines of the same name, but they each bring their uniqueness which reveals some nuances, some subtleties, and an individual touch.


The Route des Grands Crus
